www.wxdude.com The weather education site especially for students, parents, kids and teachers from national TV meteorologist Nick Walker.It has lots of kid friendly information as well as music. OK for upper elementary students.
www.weather.com This big commercial site of the Weather Channel has good features but is a 'sponsored' site with ads.
www.ncar.ucar.edu The National Center for Atmosphereic Research is full of higher level background stuff for teachers and upper level students.
www.intellicast.com This 'sponsored' site has some ads, requires reistering for full service. Good graphical forecast products.
www.mountwashington.org NH has its own homegrown weather experts. You can connect with the education program or see what is happening at the top of Mt. Washington with a live webcam!
www.nh.gov/visitors/weather.html This is a link to local weather information, including road conditions. Adult resource
www.larc.nasa.gov/SCOOL/SCOOL.html S-COOL is a great way to get your students to participate in weather observations (cloud cover) which help the accuracy of actual satellite data models. The website as lots of good stuff as well. Gr. 3-5 and teachers.
www.noaa.gov/ This the main page of the 'motherlode' of weather information.
www.nws.noaa.gov/ If you want your weather information from where the weather channel gets theirs, google 'NWS'. Type your zipcode into the search bar and you'll get your forecast. You can explore this site and get as much information as you want on hurricanes, extreme weather, and radar images. Good for Upper Elem. and up.
www.education.noaa.gov/ This is a new subsite devoted to education resources. Most of what you need is on the NWS site, but this lists special partnerships, web resources, and opportunities for students.
www.ghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/GOES/satlinks.html This is a great link site for jumping to other resources related to climate and weather.
www.science.hq.nasa.gov/earth-sun/science/weather.html This is a great portal for connecting with NASA weather related programs. Good descriptions of the programs are probably MS/HS and above
www.spaceweather.com/ This is a great site to remind us that the Earth is only a speck in the cosmic weather scheme of things. Great for grades 3 and up!
